Job Title: Dental Assistant - Endodontics

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a teaching environment, where each day will bring new challenges and opportunities for growth. You will be responsible for assisting in a variety of dental procedures, from examination to restoratives and surgical treatment.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to OSHA guidelines and using appropriate protective equipment.
  • Restock supplies and maintain a clean, aseptic operatory and laboratory area.
  • Expose and process radiographs, including digital and CBCT scans as requested.
  • Operate necessary machines and instruments used in Endodontic Dental Assistant duties.
  • Assist in sophomore lab, take digital radiographs, and distribute supplies.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a CODA-accredited dental assistance program or one year of full-time equivalency in chairside assistant experience.
  • Current certificate of registration to practice as a dental assistant issued by the Iowa Board of Dental Examiners.
  • Current Iowa certificate of proficiency in dental radiography.
  • No additional work experience beyond the requirements for this position.
  • May require Expanded Functions (EF-1 and/or EF-2) based on specific needs assigned by provider.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Endodontics experience.
  • Demonstrates excellence in patient care.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Current DANB Dental Assistant Certification.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records.
