Job Summary

As a Heavy Equipment Operator with National Trench Safety LLC, you will be responsible for delivering and picking up trench-related shoring to and from customer job sites safely, timely, and efficiently. This position requires a truck-mounted crane and adherence to all safety policies and procedures directed by DOT, FMCSR, and National Trench Safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Operations: Operate company vehicles in a safe, efficient, and professional manner, complying with all DOT regulations.
  • Load Security: Secure loads safely, maintaining accurate electronic driver HOS logs and reporting any identified vehicle issues.
  • Delivery and Pickup: Deliver and pick up shoring and plates to and from job sites multiple loads per day, occasionally loading and unloading your truck and trailer on the customer's job site.
  • Shoring Assembly and Disassembly: Occasionally assemble and disassemble shoring on job sites, ensuring all delivery documents are properly maintained and turned in as required.
  • Customer Communication: Maintain open communication with branch for delivery schedules and promptly report problems related to deliveries, adhering to all customers' safety requirements while at customer job sites.
  • Additional Responsibilities: May assist with yard operations, clean and prepare areas sites to eliminate possible hazards, provide training assistance to customers, and record and report any damage to NTS rental equipment.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Load Security: Ability to secure loads safely.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills verbal and written to enhance relationships with customers.
  • Physical Demands: A positive attitude and occasionally requires lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Adaptability: Quick learner, attention to detail, and the ability to accept directions and coaching.
Qualifications
  1. A minimum of (2) two years of direct experience driving vehicles that require a Class A Commercial Driver's License is preferred.
  2. Current Class A Commercial Driver's License issued from the State Department of Motor Vehicles.
  3. Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with FMCSR 49 CFR.
  4. Crane Certification from NCCCO - National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators preferred.
  5. Ability to obtain forklift certification as required.
