The specialist collaborates with nutrition professionals in meal planning and dietary guidance for clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Monitoring and Documentation: Assist in tracking and reporting food pantry usage and compliance with grant requirements.
  2. Communication: Collaborate with supervisors to replenish pantry supplies and work with marketing teams to promote available resources.
  3. Patient Education: Instruct clients and their families on the importance of healthy eating and address any inquiries regarding dietary choices.
  4. Team Collaboration: Support the collection and organization of food items in pantries as necessary, and work alongside nutrition professionals to deliver educational dietary content.
  5. Analytical Skills: Aid clients with dietary restrictions in selecting suitable food options and ensure adherence to food safety protocols.
  6. Professionalism: Exhibit integrity and professionalism in all interactions, actively engaging clients in their nutritional care.
  7. Technology Utilization: Employ electronic medical record systems to manage client information and track pantry usage for reporting purposes.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a related role is advantageous.
  • Strong interest in nutrition and promoting healthy outcomes.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt dietary advice to meet individual client needs.
  • Understanding of dietary considerations, including diabetic nutrition, is a plus.
  • Spanish language proficiency is beneficial.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role primarily takes place in an office setting, with occasional responsibilities requiring off-site commitments. Candidates should be able to lift up to 30 lbs and possess a valid driver's license.
