Detox Counselor Job Description

The Salvation Army ATS is seeking a qualified Detox Counselor to provide clinical services to clients in need of substance abuse treatment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing individual counseling, conducting alcohol education and skill-building sessions, and handling crises and client issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide screening, admission, discharge, and referral services to Detox clients
  • Conduct individual counseling and group sessions to motivate clients to seek treatment
  • Handle crises and client issues in a calm and efficient manner
  • Collaborate with other team members to provide comprehensive care

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year of experience providing substance abuse treatment services or emergency medical services
  • Ability to communicate effectively with outside agencies and community resources
  • Knowledge of CPR/First Aid training and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to stressful situations
