About the Role

Cook Children's Health Care System is seeking a skilled Behavioral Care Partner to join our team. As a Behavioral Care Partner, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume the caretaker role for psychiatric patients, providing support with activities of daily living and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Assist children with daily tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, while promoting independence and dignity.
  • Help manage any harmful behaviors, ensuring the well-being and safety of patients and staff.
  • Deliver competent and skilled care to patients and families under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families, promoting a positive and calming environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a Certified Nurse Assistant course, Medical Assistant course, or comparable healthcare provider program with coursework in patient assessment, vital signs, growth, and development.
  • Experience in inpatient psychiatry or partial hospital psychiatric treatment preferred.
  • Pediatric experience preferred.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Crisis Intervention (CPI) required within 60 days of hire.
