This position is designed to provide extensive financial assistance and reporting for the Core Research Facilities, ensuring efficient and effective management of resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management:

    Oversee comprehensive financial operations, including the preparation of budget reports and usage analytics. Maintain monthly financial documentation and facilitate procurement processes for necessary equipment and supplies.

  • Client Engagement:

    Exhibit a strong commitment to customer service by being readily available to Core Facilities Directors and staff. Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to address inquiries and develop innovative solutions.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

    Stay informed about NC State, federal, and state financial regulations, ensuring adherence to best practices in financial management and reporting.

  • Analytical Support:

    Conduct thorough reviews of financial transactions and business processes to guarantee accuracy. Provide insights on service center rates and resource allocation to support strategic initiatives.

  • Transactional Oversight:

    Assist in the billing processes for Core Facilities, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing while resolving any discrepancies that may arise.

Additional Duties:
  • Participate in the annual inventory and asset management activities.
  • Serve as a primary contact for financial inquiries related to Core Facilities.
  • Prepare specialized reports and contribute to the development of long-term business plans for service centers.
Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field is required. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and a keen attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience within a university financial environment.
  • Familiarity with Capital Asset Management systems.
