Job Function
Reporting to the Multi-Site Plant Manager, the Production Operations Leader will oversee plant operations based in Houston, TX. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Formulating and executing detailed operational strategies and objectives to enhance production processes and meet performance targets.
  • Assessing production capacity, resource allocation, and demand to ensure optimal workflow and efficiency.
  • Identifying and implementing process enhancements and cost-saving measures while upholding quality standards.
  • Leading, motivating, and managing personnel, ensuring comprehensive training and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Setting clear performance benchmarks and providing ongoing feedback, coaching, and support to boost productivity.
  • Promoting a collaborative work environment that values accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Monitoring production metrics such as output, cycle times, scrap rates, and downtime, implementing strategies to enhance productivity.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality standards and instituting quality control measures to minimize defects and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address production challenges and implement corrective actions.
  • Working closely with procurement to guarantee the timely availability of necessary raw materials and components.
  • Optimizing inventory management to reduce stockouts and enhance accuracy through effective tracking and audits.
  • Implementing strategies to streamline supply chain operations and reduce lead times.
  • Championing a robust safety culture by ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conducting regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and training sessions to mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Staying informed on industry regulations to ensure the facility meets all legal and environmental standards.

Required Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An associate degree in operations management, engineering, or a related discipline; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in operations management within a manufacturing context.
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control practices, and supply chain management.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities, with a talent for motivating and inspiring staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for data analysis, production planning, and inventory management.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
