Job Description

This Medicaid Eligibility Specialist will determine applicant eligibility for Medicaid, reviewing applications, interviewing applicants, and documenting findings. The successful candidate will be responsible for screening eligibility criteria, following up with Department of Children and Families, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all Medicaid applications, re-certifications, and files appeals with Department of Children and Families
  • Review eligibility workflow and update Department of Children and Families on changes in Medicaid policies and income
  • Submit 2515 form to report disenrollments and relocation to Department of Children and Families
  • FOLLOW UP WITH LHANC prospects/clients on pending documents and correspondence
  • Review all submitted documents to Department of Children and Families and follow up with Medicaid approval
  • Provide monthly reports: upcoming re-certifications and Medicaid issues
  • Prepare agency forms and review for accuracy for forms 2613, 2515, 2505, and requested documentation for Department of Children and Families
  • Some travel required – mileage reimbursement available
  • Support organization in receiving monthly payments for eligible members

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Medicaid Eligibility Specialist, Social Services or similar role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
