Peraton is seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dedicated team. This role plays a crucial part in supporting our Intelligence Community (IC) clientele, contributing to national security initiatives. You will be immersed in a dynamic and mission-driven atmosphere, focusing on innovative software design, development, and deployment, all aimed at safeguarding national space assets.

The Skyfire project is an advanced Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Indications and Warning (I&W) system, tasked with creating a comprehensive database of resident space objects (RSOs), identifying objects of interest, and supplying critical data to ground operators. Our team, based in Chantilly, VA, leverages programmatic knowledge, sensor modeling, and systems engineering expertise to deliver this state-of-the-art SDA I&W system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently design and execute test scripts to ensure high-quality software is ready for production release and to validate system modifications.
  • Create detailed test plan documentation and requirements while developing and maintaining test control databases.
  • Conduct solution testing to verify compliance with business requirements.
  • Oversee the integrity and currency of test databases.
  • Provide test data from control databases to development teams for effective unit testing.
  • Develop, document, and execute automated test scripts and procedures, perform regression testing, and monitor defect status.
  • Deliver quality assurance testing across all systems to guarantee the development and distribution of superior products.
  • Assist in the rollout of systems documentation.
  • Compile lists of defects for resolution and integration into future application releases as necessary.
  • Engage with analysts and developers regarding formal testing strategies, issues, and outcomes.
  • Produce technical documentation and reports.
  • Manage the release management process for all changes to the baseline IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure adherence to all processes throughout project lifecycles.
  • Document existing processes thoroughly, recommend enhancements, update documentation, and communicate process changes to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience. An additional four years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Must possess a minimum of TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a polygraph, and maintain the clearance.
  • SAFe Agilist certification (or equivalent).
  • Five (5) years of experience in software testing.
  • Five (5) years of experience in creating test plans and procedures.
  • Five (5) years of experience in an Agile software development environment.
Desired:
  • Experience in unit, system, interface, integration, and verification testing.
  • Familiarity with automated testing, DevSecOps, and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience in customer-facing test events or requirement validation activities.
  • Experience in a Linux-based environment.
  • Experience with relational database management systems (Postgres, MySQL, etc.).
  • Experience in creating or maintaining automated software testing scripts/tools (Selenium, Cypress, etc.).
  • Experience with Jira, Jenkins, GitLab, Ansible.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud storage solutions (S3, Amazon RDS).
  • Experience with microservice architecture, particularly Docker containers.
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification or other Information Assurance (IA) certifications in accordance with DoD M Cyber Workforce Management guidelines for IA Technical (IAT) or IA Manager (IAM) levels.
