Job Summary

MITRE is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Cyber Threat Intelligence and Adversary Emulation department, you will play a critical role in advancing the practice of red team and adversary emulation development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop cutting-edge offensive security tools and capabilities to emulate real-world threats.
  • Conduct research to improve the state of the art in offensive security and propose innovative solutions to enhance our red team capabilities.
  • Lead and manage offensive security engagements to demonstrate effective countermeasures against real-world adversaries.
  • Collaborate with our team to advance ATT&CK, Caldera, and other MITRE efforts in offensive security.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in related fields with a Bachelor's degree, or 8 years with a Master's degree, or a PhD with 5 years' experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
  • Experience in creating offensive security tools, malware implants, and red team capabilities in programming languages such as C/C++, Rust.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience presenting technical analysis in written products and presentations.
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active government clearance.
  • Experience conducting penetration tests or red team assessments.
  • Knowledge of ATT&CK, Caldera, ATT&CK Evaluations, and MITRE's work in offensive security.
  • Experience in cyber threat intelligence, including using threat intelligence to define red team capabilities.
