Job Title: Image Science Group Leader

MITRE is seeking a highly skilled Image Science Group Leader to lead our team of mathematicians and engineers in developing innovative solutions for image science and related technologies. As a Group Leader, you will be responsible for managing a technically diverse team, growing our work program in computational imaging, signal and image processing, image quality assessment, and computer vision, and expanding our work into areas including physics machine learning models, remote sensing, and smart cities and transportation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and support Image Science Group staff
  • Grow work program in computational imaging, signal and image processing, image quality assessment, and computer vision
  • Expand work program to areas including physics machine learning models, remote sensing, and smart cities and transportation systems
  • Provide company-wide subject matter expertise in image science and/or related areas
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
  • Strong technical writing and oral presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to manage and mentor a diverse team of mathematicians and engineers
  • Technical expertise in image science and related technologies and the demonstrated ability to use this expertise to lead highly technical teams
  • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a U.S. government security investigation and must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated track record of success in developing and executing against image science and related areas technology programs and initiatives in science and technology
  • Experience in leading image science and related technology initiatives with Federal partners, such as the Department of Defense
