A Diesel Mechanic at Rush Enterprises is responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. This includes:
- Cleaning and maintaining vehicles and equipment
- Performing general and detailed repairs of all trucks, engines, and components
- Overhauling gas or diesel engines
- Installing injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, rod and main bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, and replacing transmissions and other parts
- Reading job orders, observing and listening to vehicles in operation to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures
- Examining protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and making adjustments as needed
- Lubricating moving parts and driving repaired vehicles to verify conformance to specifications
- Tagging all warranty parts and returns to the warranty clerk
- Attending training classes and staying up-to-date with factory technical bulletins
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction
As a Diesel Mechanic at Rush Enterprises, you will be responsible for:

To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility
