Job Overview

The Sierra Schools of NE Texas are operated by Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI). SESI Schools provides specialized education programming for K-12 students who require additional educational and positive behavioral supports to overcome challenges that impede success in a traditional school setting.

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional teacher to join our team as a Director of Special Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all school IEP records, organizing and carrying out training for appropriate school personnel, monitoring and managing records to ensure compliance with federal and state special education regulations, consulting with the Director to ensure appropriate placement for students within the school programs, providing instructional support to classroom teachers in overseeing the delivery of special education services, overseeing all aspects of IEP development, diagnostic assessments, and annual reviews, facilitating the IEP process, information exchange, preparation, and scheduling for IEP meetings, working closely with teaching staff to ensure that instructional modifications/accommodations are met during classroom instruction, and overseeing the development, tracking, dissemination, and proper implementation of IEP mandated accommodations for students during state testing events.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all school IEP records

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • Valid teaching credential appropriate to the role
  • SPED K-12 certification or Alternative Program Certification
  • Commitment to learning and implementing feedback
  • Adaptability and flexibility

Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
