Optometric Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to assist our optometrists in providing top-notch patient care. As an Optometric Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest quality eye care services, from pre-examination testing to post-examination care.

• Assist optometrists with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow.
• Perform various tests to aid the optometrist with vision examinations, including visual acuity measurements, depth and color perception tests, and retinal imaging.
• Identify situations involving dissatisfied patients and act quickly to resolve the issue.
• Perform work accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and patient volume.
• Handle and file all patient records in an organized and efficient manner in accordance with practice standards and HIPAA.
• Support contact lens exams and orders, including contact lens care, trial inventory, and patient orders.
• Operate the point-of-sale system, inputting patient information with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Maintain a safe working environment for all team members and patients.

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience in optometry, ophthalmology, or a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding and utilization of optical equipment and diagnostic testing.
• Coaching skills and strong communication and listening skills.
• Problem-solving ability and organization skills.
• Ability to assess priorities, address multiple tasks, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in healthcare.
• Previous experience in customer service, retail, and/or optical.
• Optometric technician certification.
