Engages with clients to understand their financial objectives and provides insights on how the bank can fulfill those requirements. Aims to create a memorable experience that fosters positive feelings towards the bank, its personnel, and its offerings. Proactively identifies sales opportunities through a structured sales presentation approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possesses a solid understanding of banking products and services, along with the customer's existing relationship, to provide relevant information that enhances the customer's banking experience. (Actively listens to customer needs and aligns those with appropriate bank offerings, leading to referrals.)
- Assess the requirements of prospective clients and recommend suitable financial products and services. Gather and organize necessary information to establish new customer accounts, including signature cards, account documentation, check orders, direct deposit arrangements, and automatic bill payments.
- Accounts managed include various deposit products such as Certificates of Deposit, IRAs, and related transactions.
- Facilitate referrals and appointments with Home Loan Originators and Branch Managers while educating clients on different home loan options.
- Maintain ongoing customer relationships by keeping clients informed about their account status and potential enhancements, thereby fostering goodwill and encouraging additional business. Provide solutions for account disputes and other inquiries.
- Respond swiftly to customer questions and requests, resolving complex transactions and issues effectively.
- Promote and cross-sell bank products and services tailored to customer needs.
- Generate new business opportunities to help achieve the office's profitability targets.
- Process deposits of checks and cash into savings and checking accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with verification protocols.
- Cash checks and disburse funds from accounts upon verification of signatures and account balances, ensuring all transactions are legitimate.
- Handle incoming calls, relay messages, provide information, and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel as needed.
- Adhere to established security protocols, ensuring the confidentiality and protection of customer information at all times.
- Assist customers with ATM services as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including general office upkeep and decoration.
- Complete all required training related to bank policies and regulatory compliance pertinent to the role.
- Become proficient in digital banking tools and achieve certification.
- Perform all responsibilities associated with a teller position.
Qualifications:
- At least 90 days of experience as a teller, demonstrating the motivation and capability for advancement.
- Successful completion of essential training programs, including New Account Basic and Advanced Training, IRA Training, Bill Pay and Debit Card Training, Digital Banking Training, and Netteller Back Office.
