Position Overview
The main objective of this role is to oversee the functions within the credit and collections division. This includes managing the payment processing, collection efforts, deductions, and the evaluation of credit applications for approval. Additionally, this position is responsible for the New Account Setup Process, account closures, third-party collections, and handling bankruptcies.
Key Responsibilities
- Directs the operations of the credit and collections division. Manages the credit and collections team. Provides development and training for credit and collection leads and specialists. Oversees collection processes, third-party collections, and bankruptcy procedures.
- Establishes and recommends processes and policies for credit and collections at a regional level. Manages the assessment of credit risks, evaluates credit histories, and advises on adjustments for credit extensions. Acts as a subject matter expert on credit regulations applicable in various states.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in credit and collections.
- Proficient in PC applications, including MS Office and various software tools, particularly presentation software.
- Strong results-oriented professional with excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating diplomacy and discretion, along with customer service capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently or collaboratively, maintain attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Employ sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Basic knowledge of credit regulations in various states.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Positive personal credit history.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone.
