About the Role

The Material Handler Forklift Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient flow of daily production by moving raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely and efficiently move components, containers, partials, and scrap according to current movement and storage policies and procedures.
  • Perform material handling duties, including loading and unloading parts using forklifts or tugger operations.
  • Ensure there are no production delays, shortages, or stock losses.
  • Conduct daily inspections, maintain equipment, and monitor fluid levels.
  • Report any service conditions or safety concerns and adhere to all safe driving policies.
  • Rotate stock using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method and notify relevant personnel of potential shortages or overstocks.
  • Verify all outgoing shipments are properly scanned to the Bill of Lading (BOL).
  • Check in all inbound shipments.
Requirements
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with a variable workload.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet customer requirements.
  • Basic computer software skills are an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with other team members.
  • Able to sit or stand for prolonged periods while operating material handling equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Prior experience operating a forklift, reach truck, or tugger.
  • Prior experience loading and unloading trailers.
  • Ability to understand, anticipate, and follow direction while exercising maturity of judgment.
  • Possesses or has the ability to obtain a fork lift and tugger license and demonstrates safe and efficient operation of equipment.
  • Good coordination of movement for routine, repetitive tasks and ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
