Job Description- The Actuarial Manager on the Pricing team will work under the risk function with talented team members in modeling, risk analytics, decision engine, insurance, and tech product.
- This role leads projects to deliver pricing initiatives and strategies, contributing directly to At-Bay's risk assessment framework that helps with data-driven decisions involving millions of dollars of exposure.
This is a multidisciplinary role that includes developing deep cyber and tech knowledge, business acumen, research, and analytical skills. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with Excel, SQL, and Python/R programming languages.
This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, with experience leading pricing projects from end-to-end and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure success.
Responsibilities- Develop and improve rate indication, including trending and adjusting premiums, losses, and expenses using appropriate statistical models and actuarial techniques.
- Identify, advise, and execute pricing initiatives to achieve functional strategies, presenting proposed initiatives to senior management.
- Oversee and manage projects assigned to individual contributors on the staff, providing guidance and structure on pricing, rating, and modeling projects.
- Directly manage a Senior Actuarial Analyst, providing input on future team structure and reporting channels.
- Collaborate with Insurance & Tech Product, Underwriting, Claims, and Decision Engine teams to deliver pricing initiatives.
- Conduct forecasting analyses to understand long-term implications of current and proposed rate changes.
- Facilitate captive, carrier, and reinsurance needs to illustrate growth and profitability of the At-Bay program.
- Support the pricing and underwriting strategy through the risk review process and contributions to the At-Bay risk committee meetings.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- 3+ years P&C pricing experience in an insurance company, tech company, Insuretech, or consulting company.
- ACAS to FCAS or other equivalent designation.
- Experience leading pricing projects from end-to-end, with strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with Excel, SQL, and Python/R programming languages.
- Strong data visualization skills.
- A competitive salary range of $170,000-$200,000 per year, depending on location, internal equitability, domain knowledge, experiences, and skills.
