About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to join our team at Upbound. As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and operating our internal platform, which includes our developer platform and cloud control planes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Development: Develop and maintain our internal platform, including our developer platform and cloud control planes.
  • Cloud Architecture: Design and implement cloud architecture for our platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Infrastructure Management: Manage and maintain our cloud infrastructure, including provisioning, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and product management, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of our platform.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum uptime for our platform.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience
  • 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes and its internals
  • Hands-on programming experience with Go
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Advanced knowledge of distributed systems design, principles, algorithms, and trade-offs
  • Experience with modern operational and application delivery tools and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a startup environment
  • Passion for Kubernetes and the Cloud Native space
  • Deep understanding of the Kubernetes API and architecture
