Job Summary

Eliot's is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vocational Director to lead our woodworking education program. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a curriculum focused on woodworking education and project-based activities, while ensuring the safety and well-being of our youth participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive woodworking education program that meets the needs of our youth participants.
  • Program Coordination: Coordinate projects and planning lessons to ensure maximization of learning and experiences.
  • Population Tailoring: Tailor sessions according to the strengths and needs of our youth participants.
  • Meetings and Collaboration: Attend required meetings and establish effective working relationships with youth, families, community agencies, and vendors.
  • Facility Maintenance: Monitor facility maintenance, upkeep, and supply ordering to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Professional Development: Obtain certifications in CPR, First Aid, CPI, and Suicide Prevention, and maintain current certifications.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Adhere to all ECHS policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, and HIPAA.
Requirements
  • Education: BA/BS in a related field preferred.
  • Experience: At least two years of related experience required.
  • Skills: Knowledge of population, vocational curriculum, organizational and supervisory skills, OSHA and teacher certifications, computer literacy, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical and Mental Demands: Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting to carry out job responsibilities.
