Job Title: Medical Documentation Specialist

Description:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Documentation Specialist to join our team at Physician Life Care Planning in San Antonio, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and utilize your skills in producing and managing summaries of medical records.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate and comprehensive record summaries from medical records.
  • Work with dictation transcriptions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and maintain proficiency with our proprietary workflow and information management system.
  • Provide feedback to improve quality and accuracy among medical transcriptionists/scribes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance systems and processes.
  • Proofread qualitative sections of life care plans and other documents for spelling, grammar, clarity, and medical terminology.
  • Format documents to conform to style sheet frameworks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Associates degree or 60 accredited hours with a major in Science (Biology, Anatomy, Chemistry), plus 6+ months of experience in medical transcription or;
  • 1 year of experience transcribing medical dictation in a hospital setting or doctor's office.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in grammatical skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, and web-based systems.
  • Maintain HIPAA patient confidentiality standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a sedentary position for the duration of the assigned schedule.
  • Typing speed of 50 WPM.

Salary:$45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.
