Position Summary:

We are in search of a proficient Energy Program Subject Matter Expert (SME) to deliver comprehensive, on-site support as part of the Engineering Operations team. This role is pivotal in overseeing energy management initiatives and ensuring adherence to relevant codes, standards, and mandates, with a focus on optimizing energy and water efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer expertise in energy management and program support, including the assessment and execution of energy and water initiatives, ASHRAE Level 2 audits, and lifecycle cost analysis.
  • Conduct evaluations for energy and water benchmarking, assist with metering systems, troubleshoot connectivity challenges, and identify root causes of metering discrepancies.
  • Support the design, operation, and maintenance of advanced technologies and standard energy conservation systems, including renewable energy solutions.
  • Perform utility analyses to detect anomalies, diagnose utility-related issues, and explore energy and water operational improvements.
  • Collaborate with host installations to validate utility reimbursement agreements and ensure compliance with utility cost structures.
  • Assist in new construction and facility renovation projects by reviewing designs to integrate energy and water-saving features.
  • Lead energy and water awareness initiatives and training programs.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in applied mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Certification as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Professional Engineer (PE) in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in healthcare and energy engineering, with a focus on the efficient operation and management of large mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Clearance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Advanced skills and hands-on experience in energy, utilities, mechanical, and electrical disciplines, enabling precise analysis of plans and maintenance practices.
  • Comprehensive understanding of load profile data, energy audits, and project development.
  • Experience in managing energy-related services and familiarity with energy estimating software.
  • Proficient in documenting and monitoring maintenance procedures using relevant software.
  • Knowledge of energy calculation methods and understanding of energy-related legislation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for analyzing energy data and presenting findings.
  • In-depth technical support throughout the lifecycle of energy projects.
  • Familiarity with energy reporting and utility rates.
