About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to support the Captive business as part of the reinsurance finance controllership area. The successful candidate will oversee a global functional team and be responsible for:

  • Supporting the operationalization of large complex reinsurance programs
  • Processing and reviewing quarterly accounting entries, including Broker/Reinsurer reporting and statements/bordereau
  • Preparing and reviewing financial reports (GAAP/STAT, FAS5, CECL, 10Q/K, Schedule F, etc.)
  • Partnering closely with controllership, captive, actuarial, accounting, and reinsurance teams to foster collaboration and drive business growth
  • Developing and implementing process improvements and alternative solutions to create efficiency and drive business results
  • Reviewing and improving reinsurance finance processes and associated controls
  • Adapting to a complex and fast-paced work environment and providing guidance and recommendations to team members
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field
  • Detailed knowledge of Reinsurance, including underwriting, claims, accounting, finance, and associated processes, controls, and systems
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in an insurance/reinsurance company
  • Detailed knowledge of accounting principles and practices, the insurance/reinsurance markets, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
  • Technical and/or analytic expertise that can be adapted to current technologies
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with significant experience interacting with senior management and external stakeholders
