Job Summary

Lynden Transport is seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. As a Local Driver, you will be responsible for transporting cargo freight safely and efficiently within our designated routes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive tractor and trailer combination or straight truck to transport cargo freight
  • Pick-up, load, unload, and deliver cargo freight
  • Ensure all shipping documents are available and complete
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
  • Comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Current, valid Commercial Drivers License (class A), with hazardous materials endorsement
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as hazardous materials shipping regulations, safety rules, and operating instructions
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public
Working Conditions

The Local Driver will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to outside weather conditions. The employee may work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
