About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner - Patient Care Specialist to join our team at University of New Mexico - Hospitals. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, working within the nursing process to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes. They will also assume relief charge duties when designated and serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care.

This position requires the ability to work in collaboration with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations and discharge planning. The successful candidate must be proactive in identifying and reporting potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors, and near misses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients
  • Assume relief charge duties when designated
  • Serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care
  • Implement and document individualized care plans
  • Identify and report potential or actual patient safety concerns
  • Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information
Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate, and a current CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are also required.
