The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of success in drug development and project management, establishing themselves as a thought leader in electrophysiology and ion channel pharmacology.
The successful applicant will have extensive experience in the application and analysis of in vitro cellular electrophysiology and pharmacology assays, including but not limited to Ca2+-imaging and patch clamp techniques, as well as experience with primary human cell assays.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the operations of the electrophysiology team within the Pharmacology Department.
- Contribute to the formulation of departmental objectives, ensuring alignment with broader project and corporate goals.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to foster their professional growth.
- Manage recruitment efforts for the electrophysiology team.
- Align team activities with organizational priorities, adjusting resources as necessary to meet critical deadlines.
- Identify and pursue scientific advancements for the team, promoting technological innovation.
Maintain rigorous standards for laboratory documentation, electronic records, internal reports, patents, and external communications.
Effectively communicate organizational objectives and resource availability to the team and project stakeholders in a timely manner.
Prepare comprehensive scientific reports for various audiences, including project teams and senior management, and present updates on team progress as required.
Qualifications:- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a successful track record in talent development.
- Strong scientific leadership experience, particularly in target identification, validation, compound discovery, and advancement.
- In-depth understanding of pharmacological principles with practical application in both in vitro and in vivo settings.
- Proven ability to support research project objectives effectively.
- Commitment to scientific integrity and excellence in the relevant field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of small molecule drug discovery and therapeutic areas, including pain management, neuroscience, and kidney diseases.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, across all organizational levels.
- Ability to make informed, data-driven decisions and translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Meticulous attention to detail in the design, execution, and analysis of scientific experiments and documentation.
- Proven success in developing a diverse and talented workforce.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Ph.D. (or equivalent) with a minimum of 9 years of relevant post-doctoral experience, or a Master’s degree (or equivalent) with at least 12 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 15 years of relevant experience.
Compensation:The anticipated salary range for this position is $192,000 - $288,000, based on skills, experience, and other job-related factors.
