Job Title: Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric & Mental Health

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Johnson County Mental Health Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting evaluations, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medication as needed. You will work closely with our clinical staff to provide comprehensive care to patients with psychiatric and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, including individual histories, assessments, and diagnostic evaluations
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, working collaboratively with our clinical team
  • Prescribe medication as needed, under the guidance of our medical staff
  • Provide ongoing review and assessment of patient care, making adjustments as necessary
  • Collaborate with our clinical staff to coordinate services and ensure seamless patient care
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in Nursing or a relevant medical field
  • Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) in the State of Kansas
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
  • At least one year of experience prescribing in an outpatient clinic or community mental health setting
Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in a Psychiatric Specialty is preferred, but not required.

Working Conditions:

This role requires:

  • Excessive standing and/or walking (40%)
  • Exposure to hazardous materials (bodily fluids)

Within sixty (60) days of hire, employees must produce proof of immunization, proof of immunity, or receive vaccination for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR); Tetanus Diphtheria and Acellular Pertussis (TDAP); and Varicella (Chickenpox).

All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
