SIMEDHealth is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Technologist 3 to join our dynamic team in the Gainesville Laboratory. Our laboratory provides a wide range of testing services, including chemistry, hematology, immunology, virology, and toxicology, to support the healthcare needs of our patients.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory procedures and a passion for delivering high-quality results. As a Laboratory Technologist 3, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests, validating results, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including hematology, chemistry, and immunology
- Validate test results and ensure accuracy and quality
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines
- Prioritize and perform assigned workload, meeting productivity and quality standards
- Attend mandatory in-services and continuing education seminars to stay current with new technology and best practices
- Review and implement new technology and procedures to improve clinical service and technical performance
- Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for specific duties
- Prepare and package biohazardous waste according to guidelines
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and equipment as needed
- Perform quality control and preventative maintenance, ensuring accurate and reliable results
- Process specimens for in-lab analysis and prepare specimens for referral testing
- Prepare reagents, controls, and samples for analysis
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others
**Requirements:**
- Florida State License as a Laboratory Technologist in Chemistry, Hematology, and Immunology
- ASCP Certification as a Medical Technologist (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory healthcare setting
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
