Position Overview

We invite you to explore a unique opportunity to collaborate with esteemed professionals in a pioneering project aimed at establishing a Wildlife Forensic Science Laboratory (WFSL). This initiative is dedicated to addressing the critical issue of wildlife trafficking through the application of molecular genetics and bioinformatics.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in the establishment of a state-of-the-art forensic laboratory, emphasizing advanced techniques such as next-generation sequencing and microsatellite genotyping. Responsibilities will also include overseeing project management tasks, including procurement, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate training on laboratory equipment and maintain comprehensive records
  • Implement and uphold biosafety and environmental health standards
  • Oversee laboratory operations and staff development
  • Ensure rigorous data quality assurance
  • Conduct statistical analyses and bioinformatics evaluations

This position may require flexible working hours to accommodate international project demands and includes opportunities for travel. The primary work location will be in a dynamic academic environment.

Essential Qualifications:

- A degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent professional experience
- Expertise in genomics, sequencing methodologies, and bioinformatics
- Exceptional organizational and communication capabilities
