About the Role
AECOM is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Architect, Science + Technology to lead our Science + Technology Regional team. As a key member of our Buildings + Places leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the growth of professional services related to our science and technology market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, advisors, strategists, and consultants across the region and multiple offices.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to win new projects and grow AECOM's portfolio of world-class science and technology work.
- Nurture a collaborative team environment, fostering innovation and excellence across all project phases.
- Mentor and develop the next generation of design and technical professionals within the team.
- Exhibit skill in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues, guiding projects to successful outcomes.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Architecture plus 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years in a leadership/mentorship role.
- 15 years of experience in a leadership role with an Architecture, Engineering, or consulting firm focused on Science + Technology projects.
- At least 5 years of recent experience as a proven rainmaker in the Design and Building industries, demonstrating exceptional work-winning capabilities and driving business growth as a key player in business development efforts.
- Strong relationships with regional S+T clients.
- Professional License as Architect (RA, AIA) or Planner (AICP).
- LEED and/or Well accreditation.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a visible presence in local market as a recognized subject matter expert through speaking engagements, papers/publications, etc.
- Strong vision, voice, and work samples that demonstrate design excellence.
- Proficiency in software: Revit, Autocad, MS Excel, and Word and PowerPoint.
