We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Service Leader to join our Adhesive Solutions team at Synthomer. As a Principal Application Scientist, you will play a key role in supporting our specialty customers and distributors, working closely with sales and account managers to develop and execute business strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Support: Provide expert technical support to customers, handling enquiries across multiple applications and product lines, covering aspects such as product specification, design issues, and complaints.
- Product Recommendations: Support distribution partner sales and customer technical requests, making technical recommendations based on Synthomer products, customer processes, and end applications.
- Market Research: Research current and potential customer products/markets to identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
- Training and Development: Provide customers and distributors with in-depth training, conferences, tradeshows, and customer site visits to educate them on the Adhesive Solutions product portfolio.
- Business Development: Work closely with the sales team to identify new accounts and opportunities to expand the use of our multiple product lines.
- Customer Engagement: Maintain contact with existing and prospective customers, using all communication channels to build strong relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
- Product Evaluation: Provide customers with product recommendations and support, including samples, technical, and product details to facilitate a customer's evaluation of Synthomer products.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with functional partners, including manufacturing, to ensure product performance and reliability, and drive new product development.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay current on industry developments and advancements in technology related to the product line.
- Education: Master's degree in Science, Chemistry, or Engineering; PhD preferred.
- Experience: At least 15 years of experience in Technical Service, Sales, or R&D for flooring adhesives.
