Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Evaluation and Structuring: Assess financial statements, cash flows, and credit assessments to identify risks and opportunities. Design financial instruments such as asset-backed securities (ABS), mortgage-backed securities (MBS), collateralized debt obligations (CDOs), and other structured finance products.
  • Financial Modeling: Create and sustain sophisticated financial models to facilitate the analysis and structuring of transactions. Conduct sensitivity assessments and scenario analyses.
  • Due Diligence: Execute comprehensive due diligence on prospective investments, including evaluating the quality of underlying assets, collateral, and counterparties.
  • Transaction Execution: Support the execution of transactions, including drafting and reviewing term sheets, legal documents, and offering memoranda. Collaborate with internal and external parties to ensure seamless transaction processes.
  • Market Analysis: Remain informed about market dynamics, regulatory developments, and industry best practices. Provide insights and recommendations based on market research and evaluations.
  • Portfolio Oversight: Supervise and manage existing structured finance portfolios. Monitor performance, identify risks, and propose strategies for enhancing portfolio returns.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Generate comprehensive reports, presentations, and documentation for both internal and external stakeholders. Ensure precision and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work in conjunction with cross-functional teams, including originations, legal, compliance, and risk management, to support the structured finance process.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline. An advanced degree (MBA, CFA) is advantageous.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of pertinent experience in structured finance, investment banking, corporate finance, or related fields.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong grasp of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and valuation methodologies.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and quantitative abilities with the capacity to interpret complex data and conduct detailed analyses.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling software. Familiarity with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or R is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision and accuracy in work.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Capability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
