Overview

Atrium Health, a leading community-focused academic healthcare system, is seeking an experienced Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Pulmonary/Critical Care team at Atrium Health - Pineville, NC.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated professional to provide world-class comprehensive care to critically ill or injured patients in our specialty intensive care units, including cardiac medical ICU, cardiothoracic surgical ICU, medical ICU, and surgical ICU.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and document complicated critically ill medical and surgical patients
  • Admit patients directly from the operating room and manage hemodynamically complex, post-op cardiac surgery patients
  • Familiarity with mechanical support devices, such as IABP and Impella, is preferred but not required
  • Experience with procedures, including central venous and arterial vascular access, is preferred
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited ACNP or PA program
  • Nurse practitioners require a master's degree or doctorate in nursing practice and certification as an ACNP from a nationally recognized certifying body
  • Physician Assistants require certification from the National Commission on Certification of PAs
  • Post-graduate ICU fellowship or experience in an ICU setting as a PA or NP is preferred
  • North Carolina license, North Carolina DEA, BLS, and ACLS are required
