As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for implementing and overseeing physical education programs for middle school students, promoting healthy lifestyles, good character, and citizenship.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement social recreation, fitness, and sports programs and activities that cater to the needs and interests of middle school students.
- Conduct organized and structured group activities that promote physical activity, teamwork, and socialization.
- Maintain and upkeep athletic facilities, ensuring a safe and clean environment for students.
- Implement National Boys & Girls Club programming, such as Triple Play and All Stars, to promote healthy lifestyles and character development.
- Provide active supervision and ensure the health and safety of students at all times.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and school faculty, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Collaborate with the Sports and Recreation Director to develop and implement programs that meet the needs of our members.
- Working knowledge of social, physical recreational, fitness, and athletic programming.
- Minimum of one year of youth development experience in a school, childcare, or after-school program setting.
- Experience in coaching or facilitating sports with students, preferably in a school or gym setting.
- Boys & Girls Club programs experience highly preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully supervising and running various social recreation, fitness, and athletic activities for youth 5-14.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities and groups.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to keep children safe in an emergency and to move/traverse, remain in stationary positions, talk and hear or communicate information and ideas so others will understand and address surroundings for safety concerns.
