We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality Computed Tomography (CT) exams under the direction of licensed medical practitioners.
Key Responsibilities- Perform CT exams, adhering to established protocols and guidelines to ensure accurate diagnoses.
- Review and verify exam orders, radiologist's protocol instructions, and patient identification to ensure correct exams are performed on the correct patients.
- Assess patient risk and alert nurses and/or physicians to possible contraindications for procedures.
- Prepare patients for exams, including administering pre-medications and ensuring patient understanding of procedures.
- Monitor patient oxygen saturation levels and address issues according to hospital protocol.
- Perform venipuncture for contrast administration and evaluate patency of IV access.
- Administer oral and/or IV contrast per department protocols as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
- Document clinical and regulatory information in patient electronic charts and perform order entry/modification/cancellation as needed.
- Initiate response to complications and emergencies arising during exams and request assistance as needed.
- Utilize image management systems to acquire, format, manipulate, and archive images to the PACS system.
- Assist physicians and residents with CT-guided exams/procedures using aseptic technique as needed.
- Maintain equipment and rooms in proper working condition and troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment.
- Perform quality control procedures and demonstrate a healthy work environment and good teamwork.
- Completion of a formal educational Radiologic Technology program accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the ARRT.
- Currently certified with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Maintains minimum CEU credits as mandated by the ARRT.
- Possess current CPR certification or obtain within 6 months of employment.
- Possess CT Certification (ARRT).
- Experience in CT imaging and patient care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
