Job Title: Electrical Engineer III

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III to join our team at KDM Engineering LLC. As a key member of our electrical engineering group, you will contribute to the design and delivery of complex substation electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems for high voltage substations, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the delivery of substation projects, coordinating with other disciplines to ensure timely and within-budget completion.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including protection and control design and construction records.
  • Support the development of plans, sections, details, control building layouts, and other project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the project team to achieve quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
  • Identify and address scope changes, ensuring project deliverables meet client expectations.
  • Review and disposition vendor drawings, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain project files and documentation, ensuring easy access to critical information.
  • Comply with project quality plans and standards, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
  • Enter data and documents into various platforms, ensuring accurate and up-to-date project information.
  • Report safety, health, and quality issues to management, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Assist management in preparing contract amendments and other project-related documents.
  • Support the development of project proposals, ensuring accurate and compelling project presentations.
Requirements:
  • Proven ability to consistently produce high-quality work, with a strong focus on attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team to achieve project objectives.
  • Advanced presentation, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including IEEE and EIC codes and standards.
  • Familiarity with discipline-specific design software and design management systems, including CAD software.
  • Ability to estimate, plan, and schedule substation projects, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
  • Ability to support proposal activities, including the development of project proposals and presentations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and other relevant software applications.
Education and Experience:
  • Four-year technical degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of substation design engineering experience, with a strong focus on high voltage electrical systems.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be willing to comply with all pre-employment screening, including drug testing, reference verification, education and employment verification, and background screening.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License.
