Responsibilities:
  • Lead the timely and accurate month-end close process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Verify and consolidate transactions, maintaining the integrity of our accounting information.
  • Prepare and maintain reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and other general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Support internal and external audits, providing accurate and timely financial information.
  • Responsible for Project Setup and Maintenance in our accounting system, ensuring seamless financial operations.
  • Responsible for Billing, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
  • Research and apply proper accounting treatments for complex transactions, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant standards.
  • Troubleshoot recurring process issues, determining root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley, and maintain a high level of financial acumen.
  • Manage the Accounting group email inbox and respond to inquiries, providing excellent customer service.
  • Share knowledge related to industry best practices and standards with others across the team, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited university.
  • Typically, ten years of experience in an accounting role, with a minimum of two years in government contracting performing similar tasks.
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree in accounting, ten plus years of accounting experience, with a minimum of two years in government contracting performing similar tasks.
  • Intermediate level knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) with a focus on Excel.
  • Working experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g. Deltek Costpoint, Unanet, Jamis).
  • Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
