Job Summary

The Maintenance & Recycling Attendant - Facilities Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities by maintaining a clean and safe environment. This position is responsible for implementing and enforcing environmental and safety programs, including the recycling program, and assisting with general maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collects, sorts, and breaks down recyclables
  • Transports recyclables using company vehicles and loads recycling containers onto vessels
  • Operates and maintains recycling equipment, including vehicles, and ensures compliance with safety standards
  • Distributes and empties recyclable containers throughout the property
  • Trains and assists team members with the recycling program
  • Prepares and submits records of recycled materials
  • Reports instances of non-conformance with processing procedures for recyclables
  • Performs general facilities maintenance, including painting, repairing furniture, and unclogging drains
  • Operates and maintains hand tools and power-operated tools
  • Assists with opening and winterizing facilities
  • Responds to guest requests and questions in a professional manner

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental policies
  • Electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry skills and knowledge
  • Ability to learn company training materials
  • Good time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Honest and trustworthy with company and guest property

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk on paved, unpaved, uneven, and sometimes slippery surfaces for extended periods
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders occasionally
  • Ability to remain balanced and perform physical tasks, including stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting, turning, pushing, pulling, and grasping
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds frequently

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, or previous related work experience preferred
  • Prior facilities maintenance work experience preferred
  • Prior training and work in painting, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and/or carpentry preferred
