At Strasner Safety Solutions LLC, our commitment is to ensure the safety of our clients by delivering outstanding service and solutions.
ROLE SUMMARY
- Responsible for the receipt, examination, cleaning, servicing, reassembly, and testing of various SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) and other respiratory devices in line with established testing and service protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of breathing air regulators and reducers.
- Accurately complete all necessary documentation and data entry related to inspections and repairs, ensuring timely customer signatures for proper invoicing and record-keeping.
- Learn to perform detailed visual inspections and functional tests of various systems and equipment, reporting any deficiencies and recommending corrective actions to clients.
- Assist colleagues as required, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and perform additional duties following training.
- Manage all Breathing Air Cylinders:
- Refill cylinders of various sizes and pressures.
- Check hydrostatic testing dates, label appropriately, and manage repairs as needed.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned and stored correctly.
- Maintain an inventory of all overnight equipment.
- Oversee Breathing Air/Respiratory Equipment:
- Conduct annual flow tests on all SCBAs and SARs, or as necessary.
- Disinfect and clean all SARs and SCBAs according to established guidelines.
- Inspect, clean, and test masks.
- Repair any damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position operates Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work required.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High School Diploma or GED equivalent, or 2+ years of field experience in the petrochemical or oil refinery sectors.
· Strong mechanical aptitude.
· Valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance.
· Clean driving record and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.
· Willingness to undergo training for inspection, repair, and installation of breathing air systems.
· Ability to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
· Capability to handle problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Proficiency in correctly using all types of breathing apparatus, including those requiring airtight facial seals.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to perform "Field Level Maintenance" on SCBA, supplied air respirators, escape pack respirators, and other respiratory devices.
· Competence in operating compressed breathing air systems, high-pressure air manifolds, regulators, and airlines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and varying weather conditions. Employees may work in a shop/warehouse setting or at client job sites, with potential assignments on drilling rigs as needed. Candidates must be able to operate trucks requiring a Class C Commercial Driving License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees must be able to lift and carry up to 140 lbs frequently and perform maintenance tasks that may require standing, walking, stooping, or kneeling.
Flexibility in work hours is essential, including the possibility of overtime, holiday work, weekends, and extended hours with minimal notice based on operational needs.
