Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Adjunct Faculty Member to join our Nursing Education team at State Fair Community College. As a Part-time Clinical Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in a clinical setting, providing guidance and support to ensure their success in the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement curriculum for nursing education programs
  • Provide clinical instruction and evaluation of students
  • Maintain clinical and educational competencies in area of instructional responsibilities
  • Ensure confidentiality of student records
  • Participate in professional development pertinent to best-practices in nursing education
  • Collaborate with clinical facilities to provide suitable clinical experiences for students
  • Attend clinical site orientation with students as required
  • Conduct pre and post clinical conferences with students
  • Observe, guide, and assist students with nursing actions, medications, charting, and special procedures
  • Maintain clinical site regulations and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Write anecdotal notes on each assigned student and review clinical papers
  • Complete clinical evaluation forms for each student and discuss with student at designated intervals
  • Report student attendance, grades, and progress reports by published deadlines
  • Assist with the development of clinical syllabi and orientation information
  • Complete evaluations of the clinical site and simulation activities
  • Submit course/clinical outcome assessment data for program review
  • Grade and return routine clinical paperwork to students prior to the next clinical experience
Qualifications
  • Meet minimum standards for State Board approval, Bachelor's degree in nursing with clinical component
  • Currently licensed to practice as a registered professional nurse in Missouri
  • Nursing license cannot ever have been disciplined related to public safety
  • Active in professional nursing organizations
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate student-centeredness and ability to interact with diverse populations
  • Commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college
  • Exhibit qualities of emotional maturity, genuineness, self-confidence, and integrity
  • Ability to make good, consistent, and fair decisions based on fact and data
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and foster teamwork
Preferred Qualifications
  • Equivalent of 2 years of full-time experience within 5 years or 2 years of part-time experience in the last 5 years in nursing education, clinical practice, or administration
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring students in a clinical setting
