About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Training Specialist to join our team at Staples, Inc. As a key member of our supply chain operations, you will be responsible for designing and delivering comprehensive training programs to ensure the success of our warehouse associates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement on-the-job, classroom, and material handling equipment training programs to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure training programs align with company objectives and standards.
  • Assist with department functions as needed, based on volume, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Update training materials to reflect changes in Standard Operating Procedures and policies.
  • Determine training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with operational leadership to address operational concerns and investigate root cause of training issues.
Requirements
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate analytical thinking, including mathematical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using Windows and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to work on a computer and learn/understand Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Inclusive approach with colleagues and customers to foster strong relationships and resolve issues.
  • Ability to perform basic housekeeping in assigned areas of the warehouse.
  • Ability to adopt safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices.
  • Ability to be trained and certified to operate power material handling equipment, such as forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
  • Flexibility to train on various shifts depending on the needs of new hires.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
  • Basic English language skills, including verbal and written communication.
Qualifications
  • Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent permissible legally.
  • Ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shifts, including overtime, based on business needs.
  • Ability to work at heights of 60 feet or more.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull boxes/merchandise weighing between 70 pounds and 100 pounds by hand.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of related experience in a warehouse environment, including training experience.
  • Previous exposure or knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
