Job Overview:

In the pursuit of technological advancements, Intel seeks a skilled expert to lead the development of its FPGA products. As a key member of the Programmable Solutions Group, the successful candidate will play a vital role in shaping the future of Altera's industry-leading FPGA technology.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of FPGA design, architecture, and customer engagement. This position requires a subject matter expert with a strong background in the industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex customer architectures.

As a key liaison between Sales and customer teams, the Planning System Architect will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop winning value propositions and architecture proposals for customers using Altera devices. Additionally, this role involves taking key learnings and technology trends back into Altera's Planning and Architecture core teams to improve future product definition.

The successful candidate will need to navigate complex customer architectures, optimize FPGA design for customer platforms, and articulate key learnings to core planning teams. This role is critical in ensuring that Altera's FPGA families service the entirety of the FPGA market by providing versatile silicon platforms, diverse IP portfolios, and robust software tool suites.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Data Center: Storage Offload and Misc. Acceleration
  • Data Center: Smart NIC
  • Edge AI: Neural networks for inline low latency data processing
  • Industrial: Automation, Motor control, synchronization
  • Test and Measurement: Protocol Testers and Manufacturing Testers
  • Video: Broadcast, Cameras, Codecs, Compression
  • Aerospace and Defense: Radar, EW, LEO applications
  • Wired: Transport, Switching, Traffic Management, Security
  • Wireless: Radio
  • Wireless: Baseband

This is a role that requires strong leadership skills, customer engagement expertise, and a deep understanding of FPGA technology. The ideal candidate will be able to navigate complex customer architectures, optimize FPGA design for customer platforms, and articulate key learnings to core planning teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop winning value propositions and architecture proposals for customers using Altera devices
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve future product definition
  • Navigate complex customer architectures and optimize FPGA design for customer platforms
  • Articulate key learnings and technology trends to core planning teams
  • Collaborate with Sales and customer teams to develop business strategies

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of FPGA design, architecture, or FAE experience in FPGA
  • 5+ years in the industry of your SME (ex. Wired Networking, Industrial Automation etc.)
  • 2+ years of direct people management experience
  • Proven customer engagement skills
  • Proven experience in cross-functional team management and leadership
  • Ability to trade off features, schedules, business impact across silicon, IP, and SW
  • Business acumen and strong technical acumen
  • Strong interpersonal skills and presence
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders

Annual Salary Range: $225,175.00-$359,585.00
