Job Title: Transportation Supervisor

Join SYGMA Network as a Transportation Supervisor and take on a challenging role that requires strong leadership and organizational skills. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising the activities related to delivery and backhauls, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and promoting safety and security within the transportation department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the daily work and safety of Transportation Associates, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, Food Safety Standards, and preferred work methods.
  • Ensure Transportation Associates comply with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies (i.e., DOT, OSHA) and maintain accurate electronic logs.
  • Supervise labor hours and consumable supplies within budget, preparing work schedules as needed.
  • Assist with the training of new associates, including cross-training of existing associates.
  • Supervise the proper selection and utilization of Company assets in support of the Delivery department.
  • Review delivery functions and productivity reporting, suggesting efficiency ideas and cost reduction measures.
  • Interpret, train, and enforce company policies, protocols, and procedures, including food safety, DOT, record keeping, etc.
  • Communicate with Warehouse and Customer Service teams to resolve customer or delivery issues.
  • Maintain positive associate relations through regular department or pre-shift meetings.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent degree.
  • Two to four years transportation experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License is preferred but not required.
  • Certificate of DOT regulations training is preferred.
Working Conditions:

The associate works non-traditional hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call. The associate may occasionally be required to travel to other Distribution Centers or the Corporate office as business needs dictate.
