The HVAC Estimation Specialist will oversee all facets of estimating to create precise cost assessments for prospective commercial projects. This role involves preparing accurate estimates by collecting data and evaluating essential metrics.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of various HVAC systems, materials, and installation techniques, coupled with exceptional organizational abilities.

The Estimator must cultivate and sustain relationships with clients, suppliers, and other critical stakeholders.

The primary objective is to deliver comprehensive reports that empower the company to make strategic decisions aimed at enhancing profitability and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehend the project/program and its specifications
  • Precisely estimate, plan, and design HVAC systems utilizing computer estimating software and related tools
  • Collaborate effectively with sales and project management teams to ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule, adhering to plans and specifications
  • Identify key variables for cost and other estimates
  • Collect firsthand information from job sites, warehouses, or other relevant locations
  • Conduct research to gather data on labor expenses, materials, production timelines, etc.
  • Review and assess bids and quotes from subcontractors or suppliers
  • Execute risk assessments
  • Generate and submit estimate reports or proposals to the appropriate parties
  • Provide guidance on planning (schedules, manpower requirements, etc.)
Required Skills:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the HVAC sector with a demonstrated history of success is essential.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and other construction documents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with estimating software is preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of related trades for effective coordination of various project estimates
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines
  • Skilled in relevant software applications
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
  • Trained to use extension ladders & no height restrictions
  • Capable of accessing rooftops
  • Certification as a Professional Estimator (CPE) is advantageous
