Role Overview: As a vital member of our Credits, Incentives, and Methods (CIM) division, you will play a crucial role in delivering tax consulting and advisory services. Your responsibilities will encompass guiding clients on the timing of revenue recognition, expense management, capitalization, cost recovery, and inventory accounting. This will involve navigating regulatory changes, tax planning, liquidity considerations, and transaction preparations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the identification, management, and technical evaluation of AMP projects, collaborating with regional and Washington National Tax office (WNT) AMP specialists.
  • Coordinate and manage project teams consisting of 2-4 professionals.
  • Conduct research and draft tax advice, opinions, and position memorandums.
  • Prepare and review technical memoranda, legal basis disclosures, and responses to IRS inquiries.
  • Manage project delivery, IRS correspondence, and examination defense.
  • Identify and pursue Accounting Methods and Periods services for both existing and prospective clients.
  • Build strong relationships with Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners.
  • Develop service offerings in collaboration with Washington National Tax.
  • Foster cross-line-of-business relationships and identify service opportunities.
  • Contribute as an industry expert by staying updated on regulatory changes and pursuing continuing education and additional certifications.
  • Mentor and develop RSM professionals at all levels, from interns to partners.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • CPA or JD certification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, demonstrating a successful track record in practice building and project management.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations, including potential overnight stays, up to 20% of the time.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced setting.
