Job Description

The Department of Theatre & Dance at Texas State University is seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to fill the role of Digital Video Specialist. This position will play a crucial part in managing and maintaining the film program's equipment, events, and resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and organize all film equipment, including physical and software-based systems.
  • Supervise and train a team of student workers to ensure efficient and effective support.
  • Develop and implement metrics to evaluate the success of student workers.
  • Ensure that IT software and hardware needs are met, including support for computer labs and faculty/staff computers.
  • Plan, organize, and execute film program events, including screenings, fundraisers, and workshops.
  • Oversee and manage studio reservations.
  • Collaborate with the video coordinator and IT staff to support the sound stage, sound recording space, and computer labs.
  • Manage alumni resources, including job boards, interviews, and networking opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in film production, communications, or a related field.
  • Documented ability to implement organizational and project management practices.
  • Industry knowledge and experience with film equipment trends, best practices, tools, and uses.
  • Strong knowledge of Asset Management software (Cheqroom or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to work on multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Prior experience in a related field (1-2 years).
  • Experience in creating and editing video content for digital use.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • A self-starter who can work with limited supervision and is willing to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite or online equivalent, including Canvas.
