Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician II to join our team at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated. As a Biomedical Equipment Technician II, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, calibration, and certification of laboratory equipment. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy and reliability of our equipment, enabling us to provide high-quality diagnostic services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, calibrations, and certifications of laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain a physical inventory of key equipment repair parts.
  • Install and test new equipment to ensure proper working condition and accurate asset management.
  • Assist in instructing laboratory personnel on the proper use of instruments, asset documentation, and maintenance requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining calibration equipment used on laboratory and operational support equipment.
  • Coordinate internal and external service requirements to ensure timely repairs and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain asset management database to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and document educational and training requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and document standard operating procedure requirements.
  • Ensure documentation and implementation of corrective action procedures.
  • Participate in corporate and local QA functions to standardize and improve laboratory service standards.
  • Maintain the integrity of all support hard files.
  • Prepare all administrative service and purchase requisitions.
  • Submit monthly PM and certification database reports with corrective actions to the department manager.
  • Perform special projects as assigned by department manager.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Experience with PC database and word processing programs.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Logical thought process, accountability, physical dexterity, and the ability to clearly/effectively communicate with team members and lab personnel outside the department.
