Subcontractor Superintendent Job Description

The Middlesex Corporation is a leading heavy civil construction company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects. As a Subcontractor Superintendent, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of subcontractors on-site, ensuring their work aligns with project specifications, safety standards, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Construction Superintendent to create and manage daily and weekly schedules for subcontractors, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and in the correct sequence.
  • Monitor the quality of work performed by subcontractors, ensuring it meets or exceeds project standards and specifications.
  • Provide regular progress reports to the Project Manager, highlighting completed tasks, upcoming work, and any potential delays or issues.
  • Identify and resolve any issues that arise on-site related to subcontractor performance, materials, or schedule conflicts.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction supervision, with at least 3 years in a superintendent role.
  • Proven experience managing subcontractors on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
