Position Summary

The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of guest accommodations in line with established quality standards. This includes thorough cleaning of both vacant and occupied rooms to ensure guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform cleaning and organization of guest bedrooms and bathrooms following the set guidelines.
  2. Sort, count, and transport linens as needed.
  3. Make beds and replenish room supplies, including amenities and linens.
  4. Handle furniture weighing up to 20 lbs safely.
  5. Maintain cleanliness of bathroom floors using appropriate tools.
  6. Utilize vacuum cleaners and cleaning agents for carpets and upholstery.
  7. Dust and wipe down furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  8. Clean tile surfaces, including tubs, sinks, and toilets.
  9. Polish metal and wooden surfaces as required.
  10. Ensure windows and door panels are clean.
  11. Empty waste receptacles and replenish bathroom supplies.
  12. Organize cleaning carts and stock linen closets efficiently.
  13. Complete any assigned documentation accurately and promptly.
  14. Maintain cleanliness in hallways, restrooms, and other common areas.
  15. Perform additional tasks as directed by management.

Additional Responsibilities

In addition to the essential functions, this position may require:
  • General cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to meet health standards.
  • Responding to unexpected cleaning needs and special guest requests.
  • Collaborating with other housekeeping staff to ensure a tidy work environment.
  • Upholding a professional appearance at all times.
  • Adhering to hotel safety protocols.
  • Completing other tasks and projects as assigned by management.
  • Following all safety and sanitation guidelines as mandated.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:
  • Proficiency in the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Ability to read and write for effective communication.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of carpet and floor care.
  • Experience with cleaning equipment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and supplies.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings. Candidates must be able to:
  • Stand and move efficiently for extended periods.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Lift and carry items up to 75 lbs regularly.
  • Push and pull equipment weighing up to 250 lbs.
  • Bend, squat, and stretch as necessary for cleaning tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Maintain visual acuity for detailed tasks.
  • Demonstrate manual dexterity for operating cleaning equipment.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in commercial housekeeping is essential, with hospitality experience preferred. Supervisory experience is a plus.

Licenses

A valid driver's license is desirable.

Attendance
