Department Overview: The Electric Operations team is dedicated to providing safe and dependable electric service to our clientele. This unit oversees the electric distribution and transmission functions, which encompass planning, engineering, maintenance, construction, asset management, business strategy, restoration, and emergency response.

Position Summary: This role is represented by Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) and is subject to collective bargaining agreements. As a Project Management Controls Specialist, you will assist Project Managers on Electric Operations initiatives with minimal oversight from the Project Manager or PCA Supervisor. Responsibilities may include tasks within the Project Support Function, Central Data Management Function, and/or Central Financial Analysis Functions.

Work Environment: This position allows for a hybrid work model, combining remote work with on-site requirements based on business needs.

Compensation: The salary range reflects the company's good faith estimate for this position, considering various factors such as skills, education, experience, and market value. The annual salary range is:

Minimum: $95,760

Maximum: $127,632

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Planning and Analysis: Evaluate project objectives against cost and schedule plans. Maintain and update monthly budget forecasts, prepare cost reports, and ensure forecast accuracy.
  • Project Documentation: Ensure compliance with project milestones and maintain comprehensive project documentation in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Data Management: Prepare and validate project management reports, ensuring quality and accuracy for stakeholder communication.
  • Financial Monitoring: Analyze financial performance and prepare budget and cycle forecast reports using financial tracking software.
  • Schedule Development: Collaborate with Project Managers to develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely communication of milestones and risks.

Qualifications:

Minimum: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, with at least 1 year of relevant experience in electric or gas transmission or distribution operations.

Desired: Proficiency in software tools such as SAP Work Management, Primavera, and MS Excel. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial indicators to support business decisions.

Certifications: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.
